By any jeans necessary
Come Spring a tsunami of denim will come rushing in. The tides are high and ready to invade our city streets in little over a month. Jackets, skirts, shirts, bags, even leggings mimicking jeans are going to make a 'comeback'. This sounds all too familiar for last year and the year before everyone scrambled to find the perfect denim jacket. Shall I plug that I've worn mine faithfully since 1999?
Funny enough I've grown significantly since then (well duh) and no longer does it fit like it used to but that hasn't stopped me. Thrown in endless combinations from high waist trousers with tees to tunics with tights this retro staple proves to be a very flexible article of clothing. When I think of basics a simple denim jacket pops into my mind. Like anything else that can easily look dated, you are gambling with the possibility of appearing to be donning costume. In my book that means trying to match your jacket to the wash and color of your pants...REALLY?!
Halloween Ideas anyone? Many don't believe in wearing both jeans and denim jackets simultaneously but I beg to differ. Create balance by pairing one in a darker wash and the other in a lighter wash:
Voila! If you're up to some DIY action add studs, buttons, pins, grommets, patches, or paint; be creative.

VDay Blues
Valentine's Day is far from my favorite holiday. I love the idea of reserving a special place in the year for lovers to show appreciation, but I never end up doing much. I'm no party pooper though so I hope everyone has an awesome time with their significant other. Single ladies enjoy yourself! Refrain from wallowing in misery (not chic). Hanging out with your best friends is a sure way to remedy any sad feelings you'll end up suffering that day. Instead of celebrating in the usual Red or Pink I'm going to go against the grain. On behalf of my 'Valentine Blues' I am going to wear just that--Blue because my heart is cold baby! HAHA.
